Never Diss Classic Animation

A New Challenge Awaits!

Wed Apr 30, 2008, 12:23 PM
[in case your wondering: NO, The Doggie Daddy AR Challenge is NOT over, It's still on - :icondogsanonymous: is chippin' in with the contest version of it (which ends June 1st, so hop to it)]

This challenge is based on The Raccoons episode "Stop The Clock", where Cyril's pig henchmen (stupid as they are) believe that Bert Raccoon has turned into a kid with a drink that they assume is "the fountain of youth" but, in reality it's Bentley wearing Bert's sweater and the drink is nothing but Bert's PB Soda (sorry for the spoiler)

anyway, This challenge is based on that episode but, the premise of why Bert regressed into a kid (specifically, Bentley's age and height) will be different

The sequence/comic will be about Bert Raccoon regressing to the age and height of Bentley Raccoon
(note: I know this sounds similar to my Doggie Daddy AR Challenge but, the difference is we're dealing with cult classic characters that people already know and it's a basic what if)

and the sequence's story would go something like this (feel free to add a few details in your version of this)
Bert Raccoon found a rock that fell from the sky, he straped it around his neck. on the night of his discovery, Bert felt funny and discovering that he's getting younger, when the process stopped he's the same height and age as Bentley

Bert goes to Bentley's room finding a very happy Bentley, telling him that he wished for this to happen because he needed a brother... and so they did (as twins)

Did you say "The Raccoons"!? :wow: I used to watch that show! I'm looking to get it on DVD when I have the money.
Yes, I did
I remember the show too but, Me & my brother foolishly despised it due to a silly reason (Bert's Gonzoish Nose). unlike my brother, I got over the silly discriminination and loved the show (thanks to YouTube)

This challenge is from my newfound love of the show

LONG LIVE KIMBA!
This sounds like a fun challenge. But It'll take me a while to get to it. I'm suddenly receiving a lot of art requests and I still have to finish the Doggy Daddy AR too.

I still want to do it though, It'll just take me a while.

Hi Cyberfox! Firstily thanks for favouring my work, secondily let me correct you on one thing. Bentley is actually the nephew of Ralph and Melissa, not Bert. At first Kevin Gillis wanted Bentley to be their cousin, but later it turns out Bentley was their nephew as he is the son of Ralph's brother George and his wife Nicole. Bentley's sister Lisa gets introduced later, of whom Bert falls in love with. Although they look alike, Bentley and Bert are not related by blood, you can blame their simularities on Gillis and the animators and finally you're listening to Mike Batt's Better Than A Dream, then you must be a Dreamstone fan too.
Oh FYI I can't draw to save my life, however I do like this idea of yours. I can't wait to see Bert and Bentley looking like twins to whomever is able to do it.
I see.

Me, I always loved the show. It was one of my favorites. Then again, most of the Canadian 80's cartoon shows were my favorites. :D
1. Thanks for the clearing things up but, the challenge stays clear due to Bentley idolizes Bert
2. Yeah, The Dreamstone is a cool show

That's fine about the theme, and that they lok and act like brothers. However I was just pointing out that Kevin Gillis didn't make that physically possible, though they can act like brothers and it's great to see another Dreamstone fan on here. Oh and I like Auggie Doggie and Doggie Daddy too.
